Tai Chi

Tai chi is an internal martial art. The style taught is the Yang style, the most popular in the world. Movements are performed slowly, fluidly and in a state of physical and mental relaxation. Tai chi harmonizes body and mind functions, the individual and his or her environment, and relationships with others. All movements can be modified to suit each participant's individual state of health. Tai chi improves cognitive function, balance, coordination and flexibility. Scientifically proven benefits include improved balance and lower blood pressure. Newcomers can start at any time. There are no prerequisites. Loose-fitting clothing that doesn't restrict movement is recommended.
